The Marlowes Shopping Centre in Hemel Hempstead had an exciting, fun-packed October half term with events still to come! From slime workshops, a wandering T-Rex and unforgettable zombie experiences, they have offered a variety of engaging activities for both adults and children.
With a flair for running highly engaging and successful children’s events with their Kid’s Club, The Marlowes lined up a selection of unique activities to keep the shoppers of Hemel entertained throughout the half term.
On Saturday 27th October, Ranger Rob and his baby Triceratops, Herbie offered performances throughout the day, teaching children all about baby dinosaurs. Ranger Rob was keeping in theme with The Marlowes incredibly successful Dino-Discovery attraction which featured 3 life-size dinosaurs themed in a pre-historic environment in The Marlowes centre court.
Similarly, on Saturday 3rd November, a fully animatronic T-Rex was found stomping around and interacting with shoppers throughout the day, which really helped to bring The Marlowes’ Dino-Discovery attraction to life.
To celebrate Halloween with the children of Hemel, The Marlowes ran a Halloween Slime Time session with Creation Station Craft Club, giving children the opportunity to create spooktacular designs that they could take home with them. Also entertaining children over this period, Herts Inclusive Theatre ran animated story-telling on which will inspired and engaged children of a variety of ages.
Vince Williams, Centre Manager at The Marlowes has said: ‘This year we went all out for October half-term with activities that appealed to both families and those without children. Our Dino-Discovery proved to be so popular; we thought we would expand on our dinosaur theme with a unique offering of interactive experiences. As half-term coincides with Halloween, we of course incorporated some exciting Halloween themed activities for children and adults alike, offering the community a great opportunity to celebrate the event with us.’
For the adults of Hemel, The Marlowes hosted a Zombie experience on Friday 9th & Saturday 10th November and it will also take place on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th November which will see the centre overcome with Zombies, run by Wicked Experiences. Customers must find the cure to the Zombie apocalypse by following and cracking a puzzle around the centre.
